About Me

My name is Anne Emberline. I am a graphic artist and website-making nerd. I am also known to rock out with a band, write novels and flash fiction, embroider teeny tiny things, and make zines from time to time.
My educational background is in visual arts. While at school, I focused on two areas: drawing and digital/computer art, which is where my training in graphics and webdesign comes from. I graduated with distinction in 2004 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Certificate in Writing.
When I make websites, I hand-code everything in XHTML and CSS, which means that I open up a plain text editor and hand write the code that makes the website work. It’s the best way! I don’t use templates and never copy another person’s work. Instead, I take a custom approach and create unique, creative designs that suit each project’s needs and identity.
For graphics and print projects, I mainly use Adobe Photoshop, a Wacom pen tablet, and plain ol’ ink on paper. I like real textures and art that looks handmade and human.
